Crackdown!

On first sight, Crackdown (Xbox 360) seems just another sci-fi story about a hero who has to save the world...wow we never seen that have we?

In this game, the story evolves about you taking out gangs and crime organisations. You play as a genetic enhanced special police force. Crime has taken over the cities, and you must liberate these, by killing leaders of the gangs, and people working under him.

Once you start off, you can choose a agent skinn, and get right in the game! There are skills you can improve, and by performing these, you can gain points, which will level you up once you have enough of them.
A few of these skills are Driving, Muscle, Shooting and Agility. Although it seems pretty self explaining, you gain driving by driving people over, muslce by melee attacks, but you gain Agility by collecting orbs spread over roofs, making you jump way higher then a astronaut on mars.

But, these asignments dont need to be done, you have complete freedom to do what you want, and even if you kill all the gangs and completed the game, you can turn the gangs on again, so they re-appear on the map!
There are also challenges you can complete, for extra points you're leveling, or just for the fun of it.
