UT3 beta/demo within 2 weeks

Here is some news that might cheer you guys up a bit, I just read on EPIC's own forum that the UT3 beta/demo will be out in 2 weeks time, maybe even within a week, this comes from Mark Rein himself.

yep, now it's out. I tried it. Nice maps , nice graphics
and i can run it with all the options to high

aw crap, what's happening??

The game starts up. I pick single player. Map loads and then suddenly my screen goes crazy and this message pops up. Something about UVP or VPU or some crap like that and all my screen settings change. Game stops running and freezes.

oh i know: u got an ATI, right? VPU recover is an implemented feature in ATI's drivers, to let the driver's software not to be kicked out by XP.

Just see in your options and choose not th have it enabled. then check also u got the lastest Catalyst drivers version

I got an ATI X1300pro and the game works like a charm, and i got the drivers too.

Now there's an answer I can use!!

I have the ATI X600. I'll go check for d/ls from ATI.

I got that problem too with Far Cry when i had my radeon 9800 pro (which i still have on another comp btw, good card ) . I had to turn the vpu recover off. They implement some stuff that customer disabled, interesting

Ok. Time for an update....

Did what you suggested. Update all my drivers. Anything I could find at ATI. After I rebooted and turned everything back on, lol, I tried the game. turned off VPU, game loaded, went to play offline, death match, only 5 players, settings low 600 x 800, loaded the first map, it said click to begin...

GAME FROZE AND LOCKED MY PC!!!

Now what?

try a former version of your drivers then. It works sometimes (it worked for me recently for another game, with my ... guess what ... ATI RADEON 9800 PRO )

I'll just wait till I build my new monster system.
