Battlefield 2142 has players fighting for the last remaining pieces of dry land after ice from the North Pole unexplainably spread throughout the entire world, engulfing everything in a bitter cold and leaving the remaining powers to fight amongst themselves. Based on the technology already developed for Battlefield 2, DICE says up to 64 players will be able to fight for the future simultaneously
