Enemy Territory Quake Wars : Beta soon

According to ETQW.com, the boss of Id Software has announced, during the launching of the Nvidia 8800, that "the Beta of Quake Wars comes out soon, enroll now !". Originally, the game had to be released in 2006. Last August 2006, there was even a playable demo of the multiplayer part available in the QuakeCon. Shall we be abble to play it try it before Santa sneaks in our chimneys ? What are they waiting for ? Christmas ?
